The corrosion of aluminium alloys, methods of testing and evaluation of corrosion and the influence of antimony in alloying of Al-Si alloys is described in the introduction of the paper. The alloy Al-Si specifically AlSi7Mg0.3 alloyed by 0; 0.001; 0.005; 0.01 and 0.05 wt. % of antimony was chosen for the experiment. The prepared alloys were subjected to the two types of corrosion tests in the environment - atmosphere and corrosion chamber. The corrosion attack of experimental samples was evaluated from both the macroscopic and the microscopic point of view. The aim of this paper is to assess the influence of antimony on the corrosion resistance of the alloy AlSi7Mg0.3 which was alloyed with different amount of antimony and compared to the alloy without alloying.
