In this paper, quantitative study was adopted in researching the strengthening effect of this technique. First the multi-physics simulation was achieved to carry out the key information caused by this approach such as the temperature and residual stress distribution property. Then the fatigue limit load prediction was conducted based on the simulation results and the theory of critical distance. Finally corresponding experimental verification was performed to check the accuracy of the predictions. The results showed that the combination of the critical point method and the Goodmen mean stress model can provide highest accuracy in the prediction. While for the critical line method, the Gerbera mean stress model is the most suitable choice.
